Good Morning!

Post by WLLady » Thu Apr 14, 2016 9:22 am

I have to admit Al, i waited a bit to set the reds from you because my incubators were full of turkeys. they're in the sportsman now perking away!
argh! i didn't see the cracks in the marans eggs. SIGH. hopefully they'll be okay! i candled them all, guess my eyes ain't what they used to be....i'll get out the reading glasses next time. Oh, thinking of which, i found the BEST safety glasses for work, they're "readers" and have built in safety reading glasses pieces so i don't have to keep changing out my safety glasses for reading glasses so i can read writing on the tubes! LOL.

sandy, did you know that turkey fuzz/down feels totally different from chick down? and turkeys bond so much easier to people....there are 2 poults in the brooder that come over and jump into my hands every time i'm down there (annoying when i'm trying to clean up the brooder). and i have 2 in the barn that are getting quite big now that love being carried around. they're so much more personable! LOL.

good luck to your hubby OC! I gotta drop ours off-we have an accountant do ours. i figure with all the business and farm income and personal income and all that....i already freak out doing the books, i just get them to do it and tell me the good or bad news at the end. lots of less stress for me. hopefully we'll get them up to her tonight or tomorrow....or saturday. lol Hope your wrist settles down soon!

Nope! Didn't know. But I kind of figured similar the way KB talks about lap turkeys. That wouldn't be a good thing for me. How would you dinner-plate them? They'd become pets, then what? Lol. I don't think I would have the room for them unless I build a new coop. That Won't happen this year. Too many feathers to pluck for me to be excited and motivated to build a coop. process the same?

Is this a possible thing? Would they be able to hatch out a mix?
