I've learned that humans are not as intelligent as a squirrels because no feeder on the planet keeps them from eating the food. Mmmmm maybe I have an Einstein squirrel?

We have a squirrel-proof feeder that closes when anything heavy sits on the perch. It doesn't keep them off because they keep investigating, but they don't get any food!

We have a squirrel proof feeder also, it took small red squirrels 2 days to figure out that if they hang from the roof upside down they can neatly avoid stepping on anything :)

Ontario Chick, you have very intelligent red squirrels! I hope they don't come here!

Same happened at my place. Any feeder that is weight based is useless. Then tried a suction cup to a window feeder. That lasted a week until one day some crazy flying squirrel ? or super jumper squirrel knocked it down and broke it...then tried a cage and they chewed through my rope...then tried a wire (copper) and they chewed through the wire ...then tried a chain and.squirrel baffle...then chickens came along and I thought it would be a bad idea to attract wild birds...problem solved..lol...animals are so smart...considering how small they are...Ontario Chick wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 8:46 amWe have a squirrel proof feeder also, it took small red squirrels 2 days to figure out that if they hang from the roof upside down they can neatly avoid stepping on anything :)

Re: Good Morning - 2023
So c..p weather with ice on it here.
Wonder why Environment Canada chooses "bombs" to indicate freezing rain ? tried to sell a china cabinet on Kijiji and found out that Kijiji is now an advertising vehicle for retail companies, so no takers.
Then tried to donate it and found out it would cost me $ 150 for them to pick it up ???
WTH ?

I have 2 incubators and 3 brooders running and freezing rain. Gennie primed to go. It's set to deal with incys and coffee plus some other stuff. It's @Kbr42 s fault because she just went into Lockdown!
