Al-just ignore them.

I'm being good with hubby not here, i promise. not doing anything over 5lbs. i think the coffee pot is still under 5 pounds...hm. think i just sold my one weight machine and the rowing machine....since i can't use them anymore. my surgeon was pretty adamant about not rowing anymore. so. they'll have a good home with friends of mine. it's actually just more annoying than anything-the body is used to functioning by knowing where it is in space, and it's been a learning curve to figure out things like just where my foot is on a stair and things like that....i step on and trip over things all the time now because i don't have the spatial cues of position...so i'm learning to watch out for the cat that lies right behind me when i'm making dinner, and hang onto the railing going up and down stairs, things like that. but it doesn't "hurt" per se...so that's okay. just irritating.
i can honestly say *I* have never had an owl on my head-not that i remember anyways....a friend of my grandpa's did when i was much younger-took his hat...one of those with the ear flaps and furry stuff on it but i didn't witness it...just heard about it after and saw the stitches. OUCH. apparently not that uncommon-especially in wooded areas at dusk. i've had enough things on my head-squirrels, slimy banana slugs (you haven't lived till you've had one of those fall on you head complete with slime)...the cooper's hawk was amazing, and just a tad close for comfort. had my hat knocked off by the wing of a harrier flying through the woods so close that the wingtips hit my face.... my aunt's cat used to drop onto people's heads from the top of doors, i think she just HATED people. pure unadulterated HATE. they got her declawed after my uncle needed stitches. had a chipmunk have a nap in my lap one frosty spring morning while i was turkey hunting. and one deer season a bunny was running from a coyote and crouched down right beside me....then i missed the yote but at least it was scared away from the bunny. and of course chickens on my head, but that's a fairly common occurrence here on PTO i'm sure. ;-P
stay warm everyone!
