I hope yours and anyone elses eggs/chicks are okay!!! thats my biggest fear... so far at the new place the power has only been out once and it wasnt for long. PHEW... knock on wood!!!

Hydro back on here now as of about 1/2 an hour ago. Generator once it was up and running worked great at keeping the incubators going. I hope the eggs will be OK, I was able to keep the inside temperature in them at about 30-33C in front of the wood stove. They were maybe cold an hour, one week ago today I set them, will candle in a couple days as well to see whats happening. Fingers :fingersx:

Fingers XX for you as well kenya!!!

Well, YAY, hydro came on about 3/4 hr ago, from last night 10:30pm. I am so glad we have a wood stove, and that I did NOT have any incubators running, or Gary would have been forced to go out and get the generator running then.

Man, did we get alot of ice. Too much. So many branches and huge limbs down. My little turkeys hatched March 10th were pretty chilled this morning, all huddled, 14 of them into a small ball, lol. I had left their 'baby' brooder all the way I had left it, when I took them to the barn, so low and behold.... that room had power, so I went out and brought them inside to the heat lamp and box. They are still there!!

So... I will now go out and clean their box out, and put them back outside to the barn. They didn't move an inch, when I picked them up from their huddle, and didn't move when I put them inside the box in the house. Poor things. They are happy now, lol. Almost hate to move them back outside, but they are filling that box bigtime. They grow so fast.

Heres a few pictures from yesterday. None from today tho, cept the one picture showing the durango almost under a limb. That tree is GONE Tired of picking up after it, year after year after ice storm, after ice storm!!!!!!!

One picture of of the ice, while I was trying to get out of my laneway to go drive the bus. Its a wonder clearance lights, and antenna's weren't busted off.

Been down and out with a bad cold the past couple of days. Sucks. Hoping I am well enough to go to my Mother's for Easter dinner on Sunday. She has pretty advance COPD so we are careful to try not to bring any illness into her house. We have family dinners at her place as it is hard for her to get out and around, hauling her oxygen with her, so we cook at her place.

Sandy: had a friend who lives in Saskatchewan post on facebook this morning that she had 5 coyotes in the yard when she went out to feed horses and cattle and they came after her! Thankfully her livestock dag was with her...Great Pyr, Newf cross. Bee charged at them barking her head off and drove them away. Even came back and started pushing my friend back to the house. Scary, never thought they would be that nervy. They have been hunting them all winter on her ranch, must be lots of them!

Get better soon!! Easter dinner can always be bumped to another day. Better safe than sorry :)

Wow Rhonda. That is intense. Packs are much more brave. This one I think was a loner. He/She looked so hagard, skinny and not well. May of been pushed out from the pack?

Thankfully haven't heard the coyotes the last few nights or seen any in my backyard. But I know all too well they are always around.

There's a guy on Facebook who is selling great Pryenese and AkBash? I'm seriously considering. Will be fall at the earliest before my GSD breeder has a pup for me and if my temperament required isn't in that litter I'll be waiting till spring next year. Cinder would come with me every morning and I know she kept the predators at bay. Drake, well it's just not his thing.

I'm waiting to hear back. I definitely can tell the difference around here with the lack of predator control.
