glad you made it back on Bobbi! just remember the homepage website and you can ALWAYS reset your password, as long as you don't forget your email address LOL. of course, you can also just ask me.....ha ha
yesterday was my official followup for 1 year post surgery. at 13.5 months. okay, had a couple appointments moved....so. at 13.5 months i am successfully fused from T10 through S2. Hardware stays in. Have some nerve damage that will hopefully heal in the next year or two. More physio. Strength is coming back, left leg is now 70% of the right, which is a darn bit better than less than 10% before surgery! surgeon very very happy, i'm about 6 month ahead of where he thought i would be. the analogy is i have waded through the knee deep swamp and am standing in the edge of the water, looking out at the open fields, but i still am not OUT of the water yet.....another year likely for that. so another year of being careful, and nice to myself, but all my restrictions have been lifted, i'm allowed to try anything and everything but if it hurts then stop. although he did just roll his eyes when i asked about riding the horses again. the official stats are 4 degrees lateral bend still, and 35 degree rotation still in my lumbar spine so i'll likely have some left sciatica for another year or so, but a very successful recovery. been a long haul. still need more patience though, he said another year for T9 to strengthen and toughen and he doesn't want me to blow T9 out....no more slouching LOL. more physio....likely another 6 months or so, he said normally he would stop physio after a year, but people are not striving to be better, so he's going to continue my physio because i'm showing the desire to get back to perfect....nice to have my part in this acknowledged....i knew there was a reason i spend 1-2 hours on physio pretty much every day....lol. looking forward to trying to run again in a little while, and getting back up on the horses....'cause i will some day!
good luck in the new house bobbi! you'll have to post before and after photos of the renos!!
we're painting right now too...just a bit here and there. looking great. the front entrance way is just waiting on the front door replacement. this weekend is painting the hallway and likely starting in the corner of the livingroom. Of course all but-first projects. need to clean up the desk in the corner and patch up the walls before painting....stuff like that. embarrassingly we have lived there 10 years and never bothered to fix up the damage from the last owners in places. nows the time. and our lab needs a vet visit-rolled in something last weekend and now his eye is all weepy and red.....suspected deer or turkey poo infection, yay. likely some antibiotics for a little while will clear it up. so likely another busy weekend too!

Ross: Yes sir we moved, smaller property= less maintenance, and bigger house for our family= more room and happy kids! Newer house as well, so less to do.
Kathy: Gerald & I were just talking about your back, wondering how your recovery was going. I'm thrilled to hear you are doing better than expected, as the outcome could have gone either way. We were concerned for your wellbeing when you had the surgery. Keep pushing though and get to that 100%, you can do it!! I have to shoot you a text and have you and Martin over for a dinner date one night soon.
Glad your painting is going well, I checked out the grey squirrel paint color, and I think I'm going to use it for my kitchen possibly my sitting room, so thanks for the suggestion. I will post some pics when all is said and done, still lots to do but we've come a long way. Need to put another coat of paint on the living room, then seal some cracks in the cement floor with cement repair, then I am onto flooring.. Going with vinyl flooring for the whole basement with the DMX underlay so we have airflow, and a safe living area free of mold!! I found a really nice hickory vinyl plank flooring at Home Depot, really easy to install too, saves me labor costs doing it myself. Man what an endeavour all of this has been! We bought a raised ranch, so lots of stairs, but I told Gerald after all this fixing the house up to perfect standards I am living here till I die, putting a chair lift in for my arthritic self to use when I can't manage it without one!! lol!
Is the door your replacing an old wooden one? We need a storm door for our garage door, and don't have one for our front either, we might get one for there too, always nice to be able to open a screen, air flow. Also I'm pretty sure I forget my password already lol However, I have clicked the remember me button, so I should be good unless I log in through another browser!! LOL!! AHH some things never change.
KB: Thank you!!!!! Nice to "see" familiar "faces" its been a while. Got sick a couple years ago with some belly issues, and had to un-complicate my life a bit, so in turn we got rid of our critters, and just downsized our property and upsized our living space (kids). We have our 3 barn cats we rescued though, they are fat spoiled garage cats now.. Life is good though, I don't miss the critters much. The hens I bonded with yes I miss, but the work, no. Hows things on your end?

Re: Good Morning!
@Bobbi we are replacing all our windows and doors-the entrance doors are steel insulated (except the basement which is steel not insulated ithink). The frames are split by someone taking a sledgehammer to them tying to break in several years ago. So total scrap. I am keeping the scrren door from the one entrance for the coop....but the rest of the windows are seized and barely open or close. Afraid they wont be much use for anything. Even the patio doors...the glass shattered in the one last summer and the original installers cut the frames to make it easier to install....argh!! So i cant even offer those to anyone without knowing it will be hell for them to try to make work!!
