Re: Good Morning!
I am still getting my "farm Gate" eggs, they have a cooler at the end of the driveway and recycling box for empty cartons, money left inside the cooler, works very well, I assume it's just like "curbside pick up" so its allowed, at least nobody complained yet :)

Re: Good Morning!
LOL my lab's weight shot up about 10 pounds last year.....she's not allowed any more eggs-mostly because she finds eggs in the barn and eats them and then begs for more! She would happily help me out with them for sure!
If we left anything at the road it would get stolen. i know people out here with vegetable stands that had their money boxes ripped off, and the stands vandalized. I live in a bizarre area!
Well, feeling mostly back to normal now! yay! that's a relief! DH's car got fixed last night. He has driven so little in the last year that his rotors rusted out on the brakes! yikes! big bill. i guess i'll be taking alternate cars back and forth since i'm the only one working "away from home" these days!
despurring the rooster went well, but he'll be in his crate till later tonight. just in case. he's enjoying the better mobility-those spurs were about 5 inches long that we removed. He's a bugger to catch, so kudos to DH who managed to corral him (i can't.....i've tried....nowhere near fast enough!). I'm sure the neighbours thought we were torturing something....gah. why do the nice roosters scream like you are skinning them alive when you are literally just carrying them around??! haha. we hid his head under an arm and he went to sleep, so all was good.
maybe i'll just make a few more quiches. I made one on the weekend and forgot them best part-the bacon! argh! lol. oh well. it was still really good with the fresh eggs. next time, i will add the bacon. haha

A Lab with an appetite? Imagine that {LOL}. Mine aren't just carnivores, but opportunivores. The ex-trustworthy one just learned to counter surf at the ripe old age of 12, so now we have to make sure that any meat (or brocolli) is pushed to the back of the counter and out of reach.
Spinach quiche sounds like an excellent idea! I bought some interesting spinach ages ago. Instead of the old cardboard box thingies, these came in yellow baggies and are cut into two blocks, which is are easy to use. Came from somewhere unusual - like Poland. Speaking of which, my (back-up) frozen peas (for when I run out of fresh brocolli) come from Spain. Can't we grow anything here anymore?

Oh how I wish I was near you @WLLady, with no hens of my own and now in a city I’m craving fresh farm eggs!
Hope people start dropping by again so you can sell some.

I can't taste the difference between our eggs and store bought eggs. Our yolks are more orange coloured and our whites are not as watery.
Whoa that's scary. Vandals and thieves! Our friends nearby sell sweet corn every year and just leave a box for the money, bags, and corn on a wagon.
I just uploaded a funny video on YouTube. Otis figured out how to get food from the counter (surprised it took so long) so I set up the Wyze Cam and caught it on video. He isn't counter surfing anymore but we are watching him. I once read an article that said Labs were the 7th smartest dog in the world. My friend said, "They obviously did not use food for that test. My Lab would be able to figure out how to get into my locked house and figure out the combination to a safe if I put a steak in it in my kitchen." LOL! https://youtu.be/B98JM6-z7iA
We all tested negative for Covid

Love the video, especially the part where he obviously gave it some consideration and also lifted his Paw before he went for it ! :)

Re: Good Morning!
Ha ha! Funny video! I think counter-surfing is in the breed standard for Labradors
My last pair were really good buddies and one of them would counter-surf for Her meal if I ever got called away from the kitchen whilst prepping their grub.

Re: Good Morning!
OH BAD BAD DOG!!!!!! mine doesn't quite counter surf, but is testing...."what? I'm just standing over here...sniffing the corner of the floor near the stove....and the smell is going up....i can't help it, my nose is following the smell...". (from the human "NO!"). quiet slinking out of the kitchen, lays down just outside the kitchen. Somehow 3 minutes later is still laying down but back in the kitchen pointing the other way...towards the corner near the stove....um. it's only a matter of time! She's also taken to licking the kitchen floor, just because....all the while looking at us like she's starving.
argh.
someone coming to get 4 turkeys this afternoon. 4 fewer mouths to feed. yay! then i have to get the onions planted. debating whether to plant and then mulch, or just mulch and plant through the mulch (easier by far).
