Good Morning!

Post by Brebis » Tue Mar 01, 2016 8:53 am

The best time I had getting the poults stared was when I had one chick hatch with them...she taught them how to eat, saved me the hassle of doing it lol! Nippy, the hen is still the boss when she's around the turkeys! Brooding with a hen works too but then they think they're chickens and not turkeys sigh.

Good morning! Thats good that I only have ONE chicken egg fertile with my turkey batch, lol. Now, lets hope it hatches, without problems, lol. I do know how fragile turkey poults are. (stupid even). I make sure I have lots of tin foil balls in the food dish AND The waterer.

Storm coming in, so they say. Ya ya.... worst ever this year, blah blah blah. They always forecast doom and gloom... and we get a light dusting. I've driven in lots of crap roads... the worst stuff that scares me, is not being able to see, whether its fog, or driving/blinding snow, and ICE. I guess we will see what the morning brings. Hopefully this crap doesn't start until after the night bus run.

Well, I'd better get outside. coffee has long been drank. (drunk)?

Good Morning!
Kathy it sound like you need less work and more rest? I know watching chicks is very therapeutical, but don't let yourself get run down please, what would we do without your marshaling us around?
Had a great big gusts of wind last night, just as I was thinking hope the giant pot with evergreen branches sitting on the porch is OK, the whole thing flew and smashed in half and assortment of smaller pcs.
Glad you made it home safely Waupoos C!
Have a safe one!

Happy New Month! Why have one day to celebrate and start over when you can do it 12 times?
The sun is shining and daylight hours expanding. Hibernation tendancies are receding (time to burn off that winter fat). All I need is good boots to keep the slush out. Gotta go check the sales.

Lol. Yep. Well gp trip is over. Yep strep throat. Awesome. Good old antibiotics....and yay another sick person just came in to the lab coughing and hacking. If it starts snowing i am going home!! And staying there turning my turkeys into lap turkeys. Last night during "learn to eat or i will shove it down your throat forcefully" they were all coming and jumping up in my hubby's and my hands. Going to be tough freezer camping these guys.

I think they play dumb while you're there with them to get attention then sneak over to the food and water when your not looking....mine were the same but always seemed to thrive despite seeming stupid!!!

I loved the broody chicken doing the job but she would get quite alarmed when they were grown and there'd be 5 large poults flying at her screaming Mommy!
