Merry Christmas everyone. 2020 has decided to be especially cruel. We lost my mother-in-law very suddenly last night. I'm ready for this year to be over.

so sorry to hear @Happy. I cannot wait for 2020 to be over, done, gone, and finished. I may even stay up to midnight on new years eve and make sure it leaves.....
Well, turkey breast is thawed and stuffed and ready to cook. need to do up some potatoes yet, and then dig through the freezer for some beans. or something. we had cauliflower last night so i think i would prefer beans. i know! i'll send DH to go and find them! lol. I think mashed potatoes are in order too today. early dinner coming up. spent a lot of time trying to get onto zoom and gave up and just phoned those that needed phoning.
snow is still coming down. just carefully shovelled the walkway. it was about 6 inches deep....all the critters are okay and not so happy at the snow, but all inside the barn just hanging out. sunflower seeds all around, and will do the chores a little later on after we eat.
glad we aren't going anywhere! been trying to get a puzzle put together and decided that i must be shades of blue colourblind...this one is super tough!
DH got me some qiviut for christmas, and i'm going to make myself a pair of gloves that will hopefully keep my hands toasty warm. i'm tired of gloves that just are not warm enough. i should be able to fit them inside my work gloves too. yay! so that's going to start being made tonight if i can find my 3mm set of 4 needles....hm. wonder where i put those......

So sorry @Happy.

Yup, it’s been a challenging year and I hope all can make peace with it as the New Year approaches. I sadly lost both my life partner Philip and my Mum. It’s been a trying time and though I still miss them very much, I have made peace with it and now see and appreciate them in the simplest memories which brings a tear here and a smile there.

I’m moving to Kingston in January and my job ends mid January but I’m looking forward to a new beginning, seeing what pops up and being closer to my wonderful family. Time and patience are great healers.

So, to all those who have also suffered loss this year I hope you find peace and are able to look forward to a New Year.
