Re: Me time???
"You are a young person and need to spent more time with your contemporaries and they aren't discussing chickens on the poultry forum, they are out there, traveling, gathering new experiences and making new friends."
What? When did I become an "old guy"? I'm only 44! Not to mention that my best friends (outside of my wife) have paws instead of feet and I rather spend the time with them than with my "friends". (And I spend more time on here than with "them".)

Re: Me time???
I hear you, SR. I don't feel overwhelmed or disappointed often, but when I do, it's usually because the sheer numbers have crept up to holy
levels. The number that actually constitutes 'holy
" is variable, but generally involves having to wade through them while trying to get stuff done, resulting in things not getting done up to my standards, or not getting done at all as I notice 20 more things that need attention.
I try to surround myself only with people who share the passion or who at least understand lol.
And, once a year or so, I put on my big girl pants and put a bunch in the freezer, a difficult task under the best of circumstances, but the relief once done is enormous. As an added bonus, lots of chicken in the freezer is a good reason to host the BBQs and parties at your place, thus introducing more people to chickens :D (plus cheaper than going out)

Re: Me time???
Thanks for having my back everyone. I like the type of people on this site compared to others, I find you guys "real" if you get my meaning. Thanks OC for calling me young! A lot of my trouble as well is I have to travel far for work, so many hours a week just driving to and back. The big stresser however is dealing with my mom's Alzheimer's, she is in care now but there are a lot of behavioral issues with her and reactions to medications etc, etc, so every other day I have to take time off work and go to see some kind of doctor or specialist with her; however nothing ever works, there is no change.
As for the chickens WWW, you can take comfort from the holy
levels because I feel the same way. That tells us that we are not chicken hoarders, less chickens makes us happy and not more, so at least there is that good news.

Oh dear. By that measuring stick, I've been a grumpy old man since my mid-twenties are so.

Re: Me time???
Aye, this house is divided with my parents living in front (with ok health). My dad is an old german who has lived through lots so he thinks its his job to tell everyone what to do. Mom had minor heart surgery two weeks ago and she will be home next week. Not to mention they are (almost) hoarders so I have to throw stuff out when they're not looking. So now dad wants to change the bathroom and he has bad taste so its gonna be ugly or poorly designed. We spent the evening "discussing" with him what to do with all the crap we now must move.
My brother Felix died last week (had liver/kidney transplant a year ago) and cancer got him. So its been a stressful couple of weeks.
Cheers to ya Skinny!

@baronrenfrew I'm very sorry to read about your brother. My condolences. I hope your mom is back to full health soon.
