Since any old dog is selling on line now for between 200 to 2000, no wonder they would steal it. There are even people trolling for "free to good home" dogs so that they can just sell them after they get them, they never had any intention of keeping the dog, only flipping it. I am also concerned many of these people are infiltrating the poultry world as well.

I guess there is room for unscrupulous people in any hobby.
The Humane society and various rescue organizations are charging between $200-$400 and a dog that resembles any breed for $ 300 is a bargain.
There is few PTO members in Ashton area, they may have more insight in to the situation.
Social media is a huge help, couple years ago a horse was stolen in our area, pictures were posted and the horse was found and people were charged in a span of few days.

The kijiji ad has been taken down, I don't suppose you have any of the pictures saved? Also, it would be helpful if you could PM me contact information so anyone who thinks they've seen her can contact you directly.
