Happy Thanksgiving all
A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store but she couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a stock boy, ' Do these turkeys get any bigger?'
The stock boy replied, 'No ma'am, they're dead...'

We're thankful for a quiet night at home: bacon n perogies n beer, we'll have turkey another day. Like BVF I fired up the woodstove, nice n toasty 25 degrees now!

Happy Thanksgiving all
I hope everyone had a Fantastic and a Happy Thanksgiving!!! we sure did! we had 2 turkey dinners out at camp, one on Sat with Lizzies family that we hosted and one on Sunday with most of my family and another family pot luck style.
I smoked a small bsw in a smoker but learned a lesson. if I want a decent sized turkey for thanksgiving I better hatch at least a few of the first eggs I get in a year instead of giving them all away. LOL. the biggest one i produced so far this year was only 5lbs cleaned, very very small. BUT super delicious and actually did feed like a dozen people with a bit left over. we had a fire roasted ham, all the fixings and Lizzie baked a bunch of pies in the small camp oven in the trailer. it was all sooooo gooood! Lizzie cut the bird up before I could take a pic as usual. LOL.
Saturday was spent cleaning everything up, putting everything away and winterizing our trailers because camp is officially closed. then devouring another delicious deep fried turkey dinner. being so full I was very happy I worked really hard in the morning and afternoon to get everything done. I couldnt move.
we all sadly said good bye to camp for another 6 months and headed home.
we are so very thankful for so many things, and having grown up in that camp and now able to share that joy with my kids and our family is amazing. im so thankful for that, when the kids clued in that camp was closing for the year, I could see the sadness, the same I always had as a kid, heck even now, I know it means as much to them as it does to me.
we used to go there to escape the city and enjoy ourselves a heck of a lot more than we ever could in the city. BUT now we live in an amazing house out in the country, keep our poultry, lots of good times! man am I ever thankful for that!
have a great night all!
