We decided to use a nipple waterer with our chicks this year.
I know your mother hen has taught her chicks to drink from one, but right now I'm the mother hen.
So far, they are either not able to use it, or have not figured it out. They drink when I tap it for them. Then again, they are not a week old yet.
I saw on a site that waiting until they are 2 weeks old is the way to go.
Any ideas are most welcome.

Re: How to Use a Nipple Waterer
Chicks can learn to use a nipple waterer even under a week old, but they often need some guidance. Tap the nipples to release a few drops so they notice, and you can place a tiny shallow dish under the nipples at first. Make the water easy to see, and be patient most chicks figure it out by 1–2 weeks. Continue demonstrating and let them see others drink. Until they all reliably use it, keep a small open water source available to prevent dehydration.

I have heard that putting peanut butter on the nipple makes them want to peck it.
