Re: Good Morning 2025
Oh gosh. When we were kids (many years ago) we had a programme at school where you visited seniors in their homes. Maybe they have a similar thing here? I find this as a terrifying prospect as we age to maybe end up in a home. I hope they arehappy.

I think that people are typically busier now than e.g., 40 years ago. We are typically not getting enough sleep. We have one and a half jobs because most women work. The duties of a housewife are now split between two parents. Also, everyone around me seems to be on their phones. Old and young. Video games are very addictive. Devices can be a huge time sink. Visiting parents can be difficult especially if the parent's senior home is e.g., 1 hour away.
I visit every day after work because my mom seems like she needs a friend. My dad sleeps for a good part of the day. If they were an hour away, I would probably visit 1 day on the weekend.
I think that my mom is happy that she does not need to take care of all the house related work on top of taking care of my dad. She's exhausted. I think this is better for both of them and they will need to make this their new home...

It's wonderful that you are able to visit like that, a caring daughter. You are correct on the other points as well. I don't think it will get better as the Govt moves seniors further away from family (in the North I think they can move them far away).
