What are you using as bait lolotsung? We find that Peanut Butter works.

We came home one winter to find dried macaroni in the dishwasher door, the cutlery drawer and under my pillow. They ate bags of chips, Knorr cheese sauces, and muffin mixes! On a previous occasion, the mice had stashed piles of rice inside a boot and in a coat pocket. Crazy mice!

Funny, one year I complained all winter about the bag of Black oil sunflower seed being full of peels, until I found DH ski boot full of perfectly peeled sunflower seeds.

Mister grumpy antisocial checking in.
My mom decided she is going to stay with us permanently, went and got her an Ontario health card. She is a little less dithersome since the decision has been made.
I am working in a slaughter house one day a week, kill day wednesday. We did 21 beef yesterday. Not terribly arduous, waterhose and squeedgee mostly. All of us carnivores want someone else to do it and I am assisting. I brought home a beef leg and Budsy is very happy and has mostly quit barking, its a hit.
Should have baby goats within a week, ten days. That will be good.

It's 4:42 am and pitch black and the rooster is crowing. If I was a hen I'd peck him

FYI hubby has a 4:00, 4:30, and 5:00 am alarm and only wakes up at 5:00 am. I'm seeing a similarity here.

I just saw a mouse run right through the trap. Am I doing something wrong 😂🤣😂

I never had any luck with that type of trap just the old style wood and metal snap type. We used to set some in the attic garage space. What type of mice do you have, normal small grey house mice or the ones with the white front that are bigger, deer mice etc.

Hi been sitting in the bushes for a while, but I do like this site - Not sure if you have reached a decision on whether to keep this site or move it. My thoughts are not to move it to facebook - you will spend the most of your time dealing with nasty trolls and scammers. People here are kind and respectful.

I used the Tomcat rat trap successfully to get rid of some rats around the chicken run / coop last year. The only live trap (for mice & chipmunks) that has worked for us is HAVAHART 10" x 4" x 3" #0 Mice & Shrew Live Trap, expensive $35.99 at Canadian tire (more at Home Hardware), the other styles that I tried, the critters justed laughed and ignored them. I use PB&J as bait in both live & kill traps - for rats, mice, chipmunks.

(having problems inserting an image - hope it finally works)

Have a great day - first breakfast then off to shovel lots of snow.

So I have @ross and @Jetsko and I also bought the Predator Multi catch. My friend uses the Tomcat successfully. All have peanut butter. I'm going to try this irresistable attractant gel on all traps. Also I bought the Victor wooden traps. Let's see if Einstein gets caught. Lol. He's about 1 in tall and 2.5 long (without tail) and he's grey. Thanks for the help everyone!

We catch a few little meeces in the regular traps which we leave in the basement.

Had one of those big strong black plastic jobbies like Lolotsung is using. First we caught my favourite large toad in it :(. He used to meet us every night when we did the final potty break for one of our dogs who has to be on the leash. He always hung out under the solar lights along the front path. I was devastated, but he somehow survived. Then the trap completely disappeared! We have a large property, and that was a few years ago. Never did find the thing. I worry that somebody got a foot caught in it and scuttled off somewhere.

You put traps outside? So the little guys don't get in?

Also totally unrelated, I just found out there's a craft beer place with a nice restaurant just north of our house in Palgrave. Are we allowed to post pictures of beer? If not I apologize ahead of time.
