Re: Animal products website
I have bought Flea/tick (Bravecto) for the dogs from them. You need to get your vet to fax in prescriptions.
My vet at the time gave me trouble, requiring visits for heartworm tests first (money grab #1) and then a prescription-writing fee of $15 per prescription per pet (money grab #2) before cooperating with the request. I don’t remember if all this canceled out the savings of buying online. I have changed vets. I do understand and agree that the vet has to prescribe responsibly, but...

I was only looking at the over-the-counter products for my dogs - ear cleaner, medicated shampoo. I don't know if it would be cheaper after paying for postage.

I have not ordered off that particular website, and my experiences have been similar to @SusanH ...vets want their medication markup, and it's hard to blame them, but I'm cheap AF thrifty. For commonly or regularly needed meds like flea drops, I get them from http://pet-i-supply.com/front.htm
For something like heartworm, which is fairly rare in Canada, I would spring for a heartworm test before I spent $$ on preventative medicine that may or may not give them cancer down the road.

I didn't know that flea/tick meds required a scrip in Canada. I always bought Advantix by mail order in the US from whowever was cheapest). I don't do Heartworm, but I do get my dogs tested for HW/tick-borne diseases.

From what vets tell me , believe or not , if not tested & dog has heart worms & you just give medicine the dead worms will kill your dog . I’m not willing to take that chance .

Yes, it's true: I have read up on it and that's one test that I don't mind spending money on before administering heartworm meds. Well worth the money for peace of mind.
