War on Weasels

Post by Rhonda » Thu Jan 28, 2016 7:47 pm

So the war on weasel continues :susel: Hubby has one rat trap in the hen house, three in the barn and two tunnels with rat traps inside in and around the wood shed. had them baited with liver for the first few days and caught nothing. Baited with the last chicken that was killed and one trap was triggered, bait gone but nothing in it. One of the tunnel traps he actually put the chicken neck complete with head inside.
It completely disappeared, without triggering the trap, hubby didn't think the head would even fit through the hole. I had even saved the blood from our roast beast on Sunday and we poured that aroundn the traps, but didn't get him.

Apparently there has been some discussion of Mr. Ninja weasel at work. "The guys" say you need beaver to catch it...they even came up with some beaver meat. So everything is set up again, complete with beaver. :xfingers:

Hope you catch him but I think it's more how you build the trap than the bait. I remember something about that on the old site, I think the swan guy gave the info,I don't know if he made it over to this site, hopefully he chime's in.

I don't think The Swan Guy made it over to this site - don't see his username in the Members list.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with him?
His advice was invaluable to me when I had a rodent problem last winter, and he helped another PSO member to fix their fisher problem too.
I'm sure he'd have the answer to Rhonda's weasel problem.

Anyone who just got the EBBA News Bulletin would have his phone number and Email I believe.

If you have problems getting him I might know a person who lives close.
