That sounds like winter up here in the Ottawa Valley, not in the banana belt of Niagara Max!Maximus wrote:QR_BBPOST We've had some wonderful lake effect snow. I tried to teach Ava how to do snow angels but she just thinks it's play time.
I'm looking forward to a super deep freeze in January, record breaking lows for February and snow in April! Wooohooo

Here's a site that you may find helpful re: wind turbine locations ...Maximus wrote:QR_BBPOST Maybe I need to live closer to Ottawa.
How's your turbine population up there?

RIP Scooby, AKA Awesome Dog. Too well loved to ever be forgotten. "Sometime in June", 2005 - January 24, 2017.

Thanks for the link Jaye, I appreciate it. Unfortunately I am very familiar with that site
I'm pretty up to date on what's approved, suspended (I am very reluctant to use the word cancelled as they essentially aren't) and forecasted. Since this chaos has entered our home, I have spent a better part of my day researching, meetings with groups, talking with well respected professionals, scientists with varying degrees in various fields, acoustical engineers, acousticians, and I have had tests done at my home, with more to come. Moral of my story, I don't go down willingly and I never go down alone.
It is criminally negligent what has and is being done. Absurd changes have taken place such as enviro laws have been changed or deleted to accommodate IWT's, protection laws for communities have been changed to accommodate money and IWT's, but .... Let's just say if my business killed one raptor I would be fined to the end of the zone and back, never mind if I exceeded my allowable raptor kill, and promise to continue to monitor the deaths to silence the masses. Yes, the laws are changed to allow the death of bats, birds and raptors. Sounds green to me. When it comes to GEA, it is up to the people to prove, scientifically, lab studies etc. That there are health impacts and environmental impacts. The communities. It all of a sudden isn't the governments responsibility? or the wind companies to do such studies? and we are to fund independently. Huron county, health department bascally said FU, and is doing a study, independent at the Waterloo university. I could tell you my experience with all levels of the government but it is so offensive, unless you see 'print' I have you wouldn't believe me. However, the ministry is involved, the results will be altered.
FOI is being altered, the dates for compliancy in the MOECC are being changed. What else is being changed?, Sound like a transparent government agency? Defeats the point of FOI.
Well, off I went ... I just better leave it at that because I do have the ability to blow up the platform with the injustices.

There are plans to put 40 - 60 wind turbines in the fields east of my place. I'm not sure how far away they'll be, but I will be able to see them out my front window. I am looking for somewhere to move to. They are also building a potash mine about 30 minutes south east of here. So much for living in the country.

I'm sorry to hear this. It's an intrusion felt like few others.
Is that The Grand River project? If so, I believe it is another 67 or so Enercon 101's 3MW 124m high (potentially 134m)turbines, not including the high of the blades.
If your a non-participating member the 'suggested' set back is 550m from your house, not from your property line.
Oh wait, you're in Regina? Umm, I thought Regina refused the wind companies. Hold on a minute. Let me look something up. I will be back.
Ok, so a quick search showed me Chaplin Lake Wind project is denied.
I'd be writing your Minister of Energy. If they refuse one wind project they should be refusing them all. But I'm not up to date on stuff out of the province like I am in Ontario.
If I can be of any help, please let me know. Might be worth joining or reaching out to some groups. Mothers against Wind Turbines is federal I believe.

You may have already seen this but thought you'd enjoy...I had to clean it up a bit lol
A farmer named Bill was tending to his herd in a field near Bluevale when suddenly a new 2016 Mercedes advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust. The driver, a young man in a Armani suit, Gucci® shoes, RayBan® sunglasses and YSL® tie, leaned out the window and asked the farmer, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, will you give me a calf?"
Bill looks at the man, who obviously is a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, why not?"
The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell® notebook computer, connects it to his Apple iPhone, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.
The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop® and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany ...
Within seconds, he receives an email on his Apple iPad® that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL® database through an ODBC connected Excel® spreadsheet with email on his Galaxy S5® and, after a few minutes, receives a response.
Finally, he prints out a full-colour, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet® printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves."
"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," says Bill.
He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.
Then Bill says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?"
The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?"
"You're a member of parliament for Wynne's liberals", says Bill.
"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, “but how did you guess that?"
"No guessing required." answered the farmer. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know
about how working people make a living - or about cows, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep not a herd of cows, you dumb @$*.”
“Now give me back my damned dog.”
AND THAT FOLKS IS WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
