anyone else watching the hip's final concert?

Post by Home Grown Poultry » Sun Aug 21, 2016 10:15 am

man that was such a great show filled with such raw emotion. I cant imagine being in Gords shoes with what hes facing but he did such an amazing job on that stage. he has such a great stage presence. it was pretry cool when he centered out the prime minister and told him to go fix the problems up north. those problems have been sweped under the rug for years. im really glad he stepped up and said that, it sure put a big smile on my face. lots of emotion, tears were shed. Rock on Gord and the HIP!

I bet it's awesome!
Everybody with a t.v. .gets CBC, it's like a law or something in Canada--"Thou Shalt Have Boring Programming". No, I didn't get a chance to watch their concert, I was busy in the garden until after 11 pm. It's just as well, if I had sat down to watch anything I would have fallen asleep. I'm with Bert, it has to be live or not at all. I've tried watching concerts and performances on t.v. before, I get SO bored. Riverdance was the worst. OMG.

Riverdance...lol.... Its like watching golf, or any other sport. I can watch an hour max. I check pto and other sites while "watching a game". But, the Great British Baking Show on PBS, now that had me hollering when the eclair tower fell over. The sunken faces when the cake collapses, and that subtle British humour, I love it. There's a young Pakistani woman, marvellous flavours she adds to things: rosewater, pistachio, lavender, it has me drooling every show. Heartbreak or celebration with every bake! And good sports, everyone helping everyone, not like the nastiness on American shows.

There isn't any 'cable' here and we'd have to have a receiver to hook up to the dish that is here. It doesn't matter, I don't look for it, don't miss it. I can barely talk on my cell phone here. Have to stand outside and if it is a windy day, forget it, the single comes and goes and after 5 years of hearing 'you're cutting in and out.' ' you sound like you're in a tunnel' it's amazing that I even have a cell phone.

I was talking to Rev Can on Friday. She said, oh oh you're fading in and out, I just stood there and said is that better? She responded with 'much' and I said, ya we had a gust of wind. She was quiet for a moment and said ooookkkkaaaaay lol.

Nope I didn't watch. Hubby did though and he enjoyed it, I like their music but am not a HUGE fan and I am with barron, it's got to be live or nothing. Was also too pooped, volunteered in the morning, then tried to get some gardening done here, then went to son's house to clean out his back garden so when 8:30 came around I went to bed!!
