I can relate, although I don't have turkeys. I did have two Ameraucana cockerels that I couldn't being myself to process myself, so took them to a farm where they were going to "do the deed" for me. In the end, they wound up being tagged as keepers and added to their flock, rather than being done in. They have been contributed to some interesting looking offspring.
Love the ad. The last scene, with the turkey gobbling at the head of the table, made me laugh.

I like the tetter totter part! cute video, but thats why you dont just keep 1, hahaha. My kids understand and also have their favorites and so do I, those birds wont ever make it to the table despite their flaws but a lot of the other ones will! I just wish they had something different for dinner.

My Bronze Tom "Baby Cakes" used to follow me everywhere. He would stand on my boots & cry until I picked him up.
Even when he was 3 years old, he wanted to be picked up ( couldn't do it, he was too heavy )
My dog would go frantic & wanted to eat Baby Cakes.
I found Baby Cakes & his wife Betty a home @ a Petting zoo close by.
Turkeys are just the sweetest creatures ~ too bad they are so darn tasty!

I can kind of relate, all of our 12 turkeys we are keeping over winter are friendly, curious and a hoot to watch. But come spring time the few we decide not to keep to breed will end up on the dinner table. No tofurkey in this house.

I feel the same why. They are like little puppies. Follow you everywhere. Love to be pet. If you could train them to outside I am sure they would make great house pets. And they are my pets, right up until they go in the freezer. Then they are food. Yum, Yum, Yum. I am glad we are on the top of the food chain.

We eat turkey all the time, but Annabelle is almost 3 yrs old and will never be food. She is such a pet, so yup I can relate.
