I should probably say not half as relieved as Vian LOL! I think he had visions of another paddock and housing!

I admit, I was working on several options here too! Do they wrap us around their little claws, or what? :rooster-171:

I have had success listing my birds on Kijiji, & usually the people are ok.
There is a spot where you can list your location or your Postal code.
I always put my Postal code & also list that I am only 10 minutes from the 401

In my ad I request that they send me their cell or home phone number.
I don't give my address until I can phone them on "their" phone.
Weeds out some of the crazies & they don'y stand me up cause they don't want me to phone Them - LOL.
IF I am trying to make room for another breed, I "might" give a better price if they take the entire lot..

Yes, as the others have said, don't let them know where you live. I went to give away roosters last year. I posted that I would meet in a local town near the highway to make it easier for someone interested. I kept getting an email asking where I was located and what was my address. I cancelled my ad immediately.

It certainly makes you wonder if Kijiji is being used for large scale "phishing", and somebody has a set up to automatically reply to All New ads, asking for location and/or address, and then targeting the ones that gave an address, to check if they are selling anything worth steeling.

Yes, OC, if you list a vehicle or parts for sale, and also list a mobile number, even if the ad says call or E-mail only, you will soon get a text from a bot reading something to the effect of "Is your item on kijiji still for sale, e-mail such-and such address". Said address usually looks very random or fishy e.g. hotteens@hotmail or lgishj362t@bit.ly.
That said, I've never had that happen when trying to sell eggs, but I'm sure it will come eventually. I agree with the " tire kicker" comments... for every 20 responses, there will only be 1 serious one, and the rest are looking for something cheap, next door sort of thing. Or are drunk. Or bored and lonely LOL.
