I picked up some hitch pins for the locks on the doors... works perfect! I also built a 4 foot feeder out of a vinyl eavestrough, a steel stud and a piece of siding to keep the birds off of it. i drilled half inch holes on 1 Inch centers all across the front of the eavestrough so the feed can fall out into the trough. its put together with rivots, the trick with using rivots is simple, use 3 metal screws get the part placed exactly where you want it secured with 2 screws, use the third to pick where you want the first rivot, drill it in and strip the hole completly, remove the screw and insert your rivot. just continue piggy backing through the screws until your done. rivots are awesome, cheap fasteners!

You need a motor that big??? Ouch. I was toying with the idea of a bicycle driven one...... maybe not.

Thank you very much John! I figure I'v saved my self thousands just in poultry items... now I do this kinda stuff all the time, teaching my kids to do the same. just yesterday all my kids (6 of them) got new bikes. the oldest got a new one and all the bikes cycled down a kid. but each and everyone of them, with my help, fixed up, greased up and customized the "new" bikes just for them. they loved it but what I like the most is they will carry this on (I hope) into the future. I grew up being taught how to fix and build things myself. measure twice, cut once and do it right the first time. I take great pride in my work and just love teaching my kids to do the same.

Your doing a great job and have a fantastic philosophy . I'm at the stage where I measure 3 or 4 times, then walk through a door and cut something wrong. I screwed up on cutting roofing steel today but my son made a suggestion that fixes all.

Thanks again. I hear ya on the numbers. I second guess myself and remeasure all the time. LOL did you see my Fort Coop thread? lots of second guessing and wrong cut boards there LOL. it turned out great though even though its not officially done. OH theres another thing... I have a handful of projects still needing to be completely finished like my plucker. I'll get there. Hey Ross can I have a round tuit? LOL
