My Brooders
I'm LUVIN the water cups!
Is it an Eaves trough you are using for your feeder?
I'm thinking of stealing your idea.
My chicks will be here SOON & it looks like a great way to feed them.

Thanks PP! I love the poultry cups too. I was worried at first that they would be hard to keep clean but its not. all I do is shut the water off, take half a piece of paper towel and suck up most of the water and then wipe out the cup with the other half of the paper towel. adjusting the height is a breeze once the cups are empty.
The feed trough is actually an office electrical conduit box... its the back half that screws to the wall or runs from floor to ceiling. i have a few of them thanks to my father in law, hes a scrapper. an evestrough would be to deep for chicks but a great idea for adults.

heres my latest brooder. its built on an old door, I have a few of these doors. its 24" wide, 76" long and 30" tall. Its built in my main coop but its not permanently built in and could easily be removed. I will probably add pens under each one.

Thanks Ross! I had to break down and buy a few 2×4s. its amazing how fast I can build stuff when im not scrounging for material, total cost was $12. haha not bad eh! I still need to add automatic waterers and a decent feed trough.
I need to build another ASAP. Turkeys are due on Tuesday, 18 of them.

Nice! I wish I was half as handy as you! Are those crib rails slanted on the top? Is that to keep birds from roosting up there?

Thanks WWW! hahaha yup those are crib rails in an attempt to keep birds off of it. seems to be working for the most part. I do want to put a slanted roof on top instead, on hinges so I can stash stuff up there. that crib is ancient. been through 3 of my kids, my nephew and its prolly 20 years old at least. its guna retire as a part of a chicken coop eventually. LOL
