Looking for a security fence to put around my chicken tractors in the spring.
Area is known for Possum, Coyote and racoon.
I know I need a fence or a hot wire (about 50 feet)
I think I will invest in a couple of marine batteries
I don't know anything about the energizers.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks
Patricia

Spend the money and get a gallagher. Ive toasted 3 of the cheaper ones...2 in one year. Shipping back for warranty work isnt worth it. Gallagher was recommended to me by bvf here and its been awesome. Still works after being hit by lightning!

I'm pretty sure mine is a Gallagher. I have it powered by a deep cycle marine battery that has a solar panel connected to it. Can't remember the last time I put the charger on the battery to top it up - maybe last spring. That fence is on every single day with my horses behind it and it packs a wallop if you touch it!

Make sure you follow the instructions that come with the charger, on how to get a good ground.

You can put a hot wire 6 inch up and 6 inches out from the bottom to stop the diggers, and 6 out and 6 down from top to stop the climbers and connect the ground to the tractor fencing. That way they will get a good lifter off of it.
