So I started my new coop this weekend after studying coops non stop for about a year and my sweet husband jumped in after I framed it in. He redesigned the roof pitch something I couldn't do. Angle cuts get me totally messed up. I'm about 90% finished :stars: .

My goodness you are a fast worker. That's a lovely looking coop!

We started ours back in April, and only got it finished on Canada Day. Hubby also had trouble with those darned angle cuts!

Thanks for the replies I'm happy with it thus far. Its only 4'x8' but its just for two cochin chicks. One is a bantam and the other a standard. I'm hoping to finish it this weekend. I have to mesh the windows and close in the two ends and predator proof the base with rocks, add the ramp etc etc all these little things take time. I'm really lucky because my husband has a saw mill so all the lumber was free.

I haven't seen anything around this year so far. Last year I saw a raccoon and a fox. They will be locked in at night. We have these large flat rocks much like patio stones I was thinking of using. What do people use with those chicken tractors?
