Re: Coop build
This weekend father in law and I finished putting up the plywood and started constructing the pens, each will be 5'×7' with the nest boxes next to the door and being able to collect eggs without entering the pen and separate doors to go outside, I'm really impressed on how it's turning out. Thinking we'll paint/stain the walls and floor to help extend the life of the wood.

KB..yup...and on his recommend, I used it on the floors of my coops...awesome stuff..to make it last longer I use a plastic shovel to scoop out bedding when i clean...less likely to score the coating and into the wood below...i highly recommend that product available at LowesKillerbunny wrote: ↑Mon Jun 04, 2018 9:33 amAndy @thejonesboy used some rubber type finish I think for the floor? I will have to ask Andy...the paper label is gone from my pail so I cant rmember the actual name of it...comes in a five gallon pail..low odour and none when cured...easy to apply and great waterproofing to the coop floor...Giffen Farms wrote: ↑Mon Jun 04, 2018 8:40 pmDo you know what that sealant is called, like a driveway sealant?TomK wrote: ↑Mon Jun 04, 2018 10:20 amKB..yup...and on his recommend, I used it on the floors of my coops...awesome stuff..to make it last longer I use a plastic shovel to scoop out bedding when i clean...less likely to score the coating and into the wood below...i highly recommend that product available at LowesKillerbunny wrote: ↑Mon Jun 04, 2018 9:33 amAndy @thejonesboy used some rubber type finish I think for the floor? Re: Coop build
I think it is called Black Night Roof Sealant, and I've spotted it in H. Depot. I am probably going to use this in our new small coop. Fortunately for me, it comes in a smaller can than 5 gallons :).
