well the list keeps getting shorter. I just finished levelling out the ground and seeded it all with the 3 bags of timothy hay I saved from last year. the darn turkeys wouldn't stay out of my way. I guess thats my fault for putting the seed in old feed bags. so they got seeded to. :-)

Hope you have better luck

well its been a little over a year since I finished this. well I guess thats a lie because its really not finished yet. most of the things I listed that needed to be finished still are not been finished yet. but meh the birds are still happy! the pond holds water and has continued to hold water ever since I dug it deeper and filled it back up after the drought. the overflow works perfectly and it hasnt flooded again. I still havent finished the windmill pump but I have all the pieces n parts to do it for the biological filter pond n waterfall. BUT it didn't stink at all so thats the main point. it did get a little green there in the summer but all was well. I have added an automatic water system with poultry nipples, which I didnt drain before it froze and blew apart, I'll fix that in the spring, it needed to be drained for winter anyways. :-) hmmmmm the drought sure killed my attempt to reseed with the timothy hay and the run is now 93% mud, oh well we knew that was coming. I need to set up an electric fence, thats my next big job out there. loosing 35 birds to the coon was devastating and really set me back in this years breeding program and in the egg department. :-( traps are set with bacon grease but so far no more coons. knock on wood.

well I think thats about it for now.... have good one!

Thanks for the update, I always wonder what happens with all these ambitious projects, and since we are no longer building anything, I live vicariously thru other poultry keepers projects. ;)

Yes I've heard of them - I think it's Silver Marten. My recollection is they had a "ticked" type of fur. Will research.
Wrong - here they are LOL!

Im very happy to report that the overflow for the pond is working very well to prevent a flood. if I never dug that trench and laid down the big o, I would probably have a worse flood right now than I did last year. its a muddy wet mess out there right now. It sure dosent feel like boxing day with all the snow melted and the bright green grass everywhere. I would honestly rather have 3 feet of snow instead of this €@$&!%¿ mud!

We were just talking about that when you posted.
My driveway was drowning and I needed to dig extra tranches for the water to get across.

oh crap Martin that sucks! Im so glad the drain did its job. in the field where it drains to is quite a huge puddle, if it freezes right now the kids could have a rink that would be close to the size of an actual rink.
