New Breeding pen

Post by Huitemafarms » Thu Jan 14, 2016 9:34 am

This is a breeding pen I built, will hold six pairs. So far I have been liking it and I think I'm going to build more, the only downside is the birds up top will kick their shavings and it lands in the waterers of the birds underneath lol. Maybe I should rig up a little roof over them or something. Most of it was left over lumber from our addition so it didn't cost a whole lot to build and I made sure it's portable for when I move out

Good job Nick, how much of this project did your Devrann help you with? Did she do most of the work, or was she the supervisor?

Very nice . Can you put a strip of 1/4 along cages at bottom on outside to stop shavings ? Or 4" high plexi glass ? Looks nice & warm .

I could try that Ross, it's not a huge deal I have one pair on wyndottes that are the worst maybe I'll just put them on the bottom lol. I have a real problem with those little waterers freezing so I hung those red light there and they never freeze. Just gotta make sure I throw my dad some money each month for hydro!!
