I use boat shrink wrap on mine. Minimizes temperature swings in winter, let's loads of light through and plants thrive (if the chickens can't get at them lol) it's strong enough for heavy snow load and uv resistant. It lasts for years. Mine has been up 4 years now, and I could get another year out of the cover if the goats hadn't played King of the Castle on it.

You just want to be sure it's a non toxic antifreeze or you'll have a serious disposal problem later, if you want to get rid of it.

Well, at the old place, the garden was fenced and the goats were loose. Here, it's the other way around LOL. Though Aggie is a Houdini so there will have to be some modifications made when spring comes!

RV & plumbers anti freeze is not ment to mix with water . Just straight . If pumped thru a clear hose it will push water ahead but not mix . It's made to relplace water in plumbing lines Luck

Nope plain water. This company sells dome kits $6000 USD and up water "pond" holds heat. http://geodesic-greenhouse-kits.com/win ... -required/

http://www.greenhousegarden.com/thermal ... at-storage This is an article describing the "heat sink" effect of black barrels of water.

I don't have $6k USD or I'd buy a dome kit. I plan to spend $1000 CDN or less.

Yes, you don't need to tell me to stop thinking and more doing...

Does it have to be potable water? If not, use sealed barrels water with antifreeze in it.

use saline water like what they put in tires so they wont freeze. my old garden tractor I blow snow with is filled up with it.
