A Plan is hatched
Ok so I thought I would start a thread on our new coop adventure. I have attached my plan and am placing my order with the lumberyard tomorrow!
This coop will be attached to an open 20 x 30 yard so that the birds can get out and explore and go in at night, currently the free range but our road is way too busy. Style wise it will mimic our existing Duck Coop, I have attached a pic of it as well. The existing building runs East/West and the new one will go behind this one and run North/South. I figure if I put here in the forum I am committed to completing it! Giving ourselves a 3 week deadline (give or take 4 days)

We do have a big barn with an "overflow" pen if need be! and we are right by a few very popular tourist "liquid" destinations so our road is insane in the summer!Robbie wrote:QR_BBPOST That's going to be awesome!!!!!! I. m very jealous. Now you realize of course that you will need 2 of these?

Oh... I don't see the engineers stamp on the plans. Building permit? You are in a "historical area" it will look too modern. Did the humane society folks give it a green light with current animal welfare laws? Did the fire chief inspect it for current building codes?
Take it back to plans and start over!
P.s. When you are done you can build one for me

Concrete footings....... Wow! Can't wait to see it finished. I think Jonesboy knows of some rubber stuff you can paint onto the floor to keep the wood dry and clean?
