Have a cool plan for a coop? Or new roost designs? Or you simply want to show off your new building.

Al, I came across a pic of a nest box condo that might work for you, same basic design as OC's, but it can accommodate "a few more" birds ...

I have redneck nest boxes- they are 14"x18" by 1 foot high cheapie toes from Wal mart on sale for around 5 bucks. I cut an 11" x11": square hole and stuffed the tote with straw. They just sit on the ground, in the coop (This photo was taken outside to make it easier to see) wedged in with firewood so they don't tip. They were supposed to be temporary but six months later........ :speechless:

The thing I like about the tote box, is it would be easy to clean or move when you change the coop!

Found an old picture of the nest boxes removed when the pen is used for new chicks.
Never noticed the "shadow box" :)

Ok so I am totally jealous! I would never put pictures of my pens on here, I used mostly old plastic snow fence to divide the breeds, it was free and served the purpose but it's not pretty lol. How the heck do you keep the cob webs away, I am forever sweeping them off everything.

Like I said to Al, it only took us 35 years to have a Coop like this.
Our first one was a kids play house and when we moved in to the country, with no outbuildings, it was a trailer made out of a back of a pick up truck. :)
The cobwebs is an interesting comment, drove me absolutely crazy, then I remembered reading somewhere that roof trusses are the worst for cobwebs and smooth surfaces are best.
So when we built this coop we put in ceiling that is both insulation and very smooth to discourage cobwebs.
Worked so well, we put the same ceiling in to the oldest coop, what a difference!!! and added benefit the reflective surface makes the coop lighter.

that just looks awesome as always OC. I dont even have rafters in my coop! LOL it must predate them. ;-) It must be as old as the barn n house, it was a driveshed but only had a 7 foot high opening to get tractors in... it sure makes building pens like yours a pain but at least the birds cant roost up there!

Keesha83, I think your coop is petty AND practical. Very nice!
Mine is practical, but not all that pretty. I'd be more excited about doing the big spring and fall clean-outs if mine were prettier, like yours.

Very cute, I can only assume this is "BEFORE" the chickens moved in, I know for a fact they have very specific opinion on interior decorating. ;)
I really like your dropping boards.
