Question What do I do?
Re: What do I do?
Good luck to you as well! This morning the hens are still steadfast on the nests/eggs so I assume I'll be good to go tomorrow when I get the chicks

Thanks @WLLady , i guess better to be safe than sorry :) Do you think I should put my ecoglow brooder (warmer) in there as well or just let the hens sort it out?

The one broody hen got up just now for a snack and some water, then she started singing her egg song like crazy. I spoke softly to her, which seemed to reassure her, then she went back on her eggs. I'm hoping thats a good sign.

Re: What do I do?
Best of luck! I’ve done this successfully on the fly with some chicks deserted by a hen. Stuck the chicks under a broody hen in the coop at night. The next morning it was worth your life to touch those chicks. She was a supper protective hen. With all your prep you are bound to succeed. I do think it is all about having a good hen. I’ve had some real dumb ones that I think wouldn’t have been successful even if they hatched their own. Looking forward to how it goes.
