Kathleen Batch 2
Well she has done a stellar job with all 9 hatched. Nice fast hatch too. She already has them outside.
Given the weather I am amazed.
#40 has so far hatched 3/4Given the weather I am amazed.

Well it depends! No I usually keep from 8-11 (or as I like to say 'I'm only keeping 5 females this winter)

I really am going to cut down this winter, although more is better for huddling in the coop for warmth.

Lol ok I was wondering because #40 was a mother! I was envisioning 40 turkeys and it was boggling my brain. And in chicken math I do believe "5" equals a dozen so you're officially "normal"!

Re: Kathleen Batch 2
I just carry on the numbering from year to year because that's how I got the wing bands. This year I am up #79 before the latest hatch. # 40 is 2 years old and Kathleen 4 1/2.
Update, #40 hatched all 4 of her eggs too! What good girls.
I always wing band because there is such confusion with white turkeys. Mine are all pedigreed from Cirrus Hill lines. I have seen "BSWs" at sales which are clearly NOT so at least someone can trace mine.
