Well she stayed put this morning but leaned over for a drink and I saw a definite pip. Arrrgg. We're away all day tomorrow and I so wanted her to be done hatching before then. That's not looking promising. At least it seems something's progressing now. I'll never give her 9 eggs again. They are OEGB eggs so her size but she struggled with that many and I have to think that has something to do with this late hatch. I think 7 is her max.
Well she certainly did a great job, with the clutch being a bit large as she tried to keep all the eggs warm all got a bit cooled and that delayed the hatch.
She gets points for staying on the job! :)

Well she's got 4 chicks out and at least 3 more pipped or actively zipping. Day 24 today. What a good little mom. Hopefully she stays put until those ones get out.

Well she sounds like she'll be a happy girl with all her babies to look after.

Just got home. 7 beautiful babies and one egg pipped and talking. She’s still hanging in there on it! It was pipped last night so if I don’t see any action by morning I will help it along. The 9th egg doesn’t seem to have anything outwardly happening so will candle that tonight. Yay!!! These were mixed colours of oegb eggs so truly a box of smarties. A pearl one, a black one, a blonde, and mottled black and cream and a few chipmunkS. Little is looking better already and eating well.

So the pipped egg is zipping now. And the 9th egg is chirping. Still no pip. I'm doubtful that Little will stay sitting on it tomorrow so it needs to hurry along! I think it just internally pipped today sometime. Uggg.i feel my resolve of "no interfering" crumbling already. What are it's chances?

I think it's chances are pretty good, if he's chirping. Unless it's a constant distress noise. If Little leaves the nest, just tuck the egg somewhere warm-ish until he's done getting out, and then sneak him under her at night :)
