I need to get a few more layers as my main flock is now in the 3-5 year range and slowing down. Not particular, like colour and hens that can survive without too much fuss at this point. I have a little Hamburg hen that is the toughest consistent layer that I love and respect as well as some really good big welsummers and everything in between!
Also, don't want to drive too far, anywhere between Trenton and Kingston would be ideal.

Sorry to hear @Brebis Seems it's been a poor year for broodies all around.
Maybe they will get in gear a little earlier next spring ;)

Well I had quite the surprise when I went over to evict the Broody and the stinky eggs - a real live chick!!!
Not holding out hope pf any more but it's a nice surprise nonetheless.

Yay, a baby!
Too bad you weren't closer, I've got a couple hens sitting on some Orpington cross chicks that are extra to my needs...I also have a hen toting around 13 chicks that should just about be old enough to be sexed and booted out the door lol.
