Poultry Talk Ontario (pto.ca)

So I set Bianca the 27th June, a Tuesday. Should have hatched Monday or Tuesday. Been checking under her the last few days. Six eggs, nothing happening. Took each egg and shook it a little by my ear, no peeping answer. One was sloshing, so I pitched it. This morning, I checked again, and there is one hatched, the other four, still nothing, but we will see what we get by tomorrow.

I like it when Bianca has chicks, she is one of my fiercest mothers, flies in the face of horses, goats, dogs etc if they come too close. Will update in a day or so, with pics.

Update
Just had a quick feel. Two more egg shells so she has at least three, but can only find one egg, so maybe four. Looked at the last egg and it is pipping.

OK, she is in the recovery room, mother and babies doing well. The final count is four. And she is such a good mom. And, about the video, I never do that really, but had visitors that wanted to see what a mother hen would do aroused. So anyone wanting to scold me for it, you are right, and I don't do that on a general basis.
