Hi Jaye, just read your post. I was on day 26 and removing the eggs but I checked each one but no pip or sound but I read somewhere that to be sure to make a small hole in the air cell and look for movement, in my very last one sure enough this one was moving inside so back in the incubator it went, it hatched the next day, so my moral to the story is please don't dump your eggs until you check them first. Good Luck Jaye.

Still nothing this morning. :-( Tonight I will look for movement. Not sure where to make a small hole if I do find life though: At the top of the big end of the egg, or just above where the air sac starts on the side?
If there's no sign of life in any of them, does anyone in the Ottawa area know of anyone that may have a couple of day-old chicks that I can buy to tuck under Gracie? She's been setting long enough, so I don't want to start over with more hatching eggs. I will need to to snap out of being broody, so I figure at this point the only way that will happen easily is if she has chicks to raise. We had a big wood chipper going for hours on Friday evening and most of the day Saturday and that didn't snap her out of it, so I think it will be a challenge to break her broodiness if it comes to that. I don't have bagpipes either. ;-)
