Day old buttons

Looking for suggestion on feeding and brooding button quail. That aren't due to hatch for 9 days but I want to be ready for them. There are only 2 dozen eggs perking away so it needs to be a small set up. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not sure for quail, but for my newhatched chicks, I mash up a hard boiled egg and stir in a little sand. I am guessing this would work fairly well.

I used a little coffee grinder to grind up the feed so it was small enough and fed a high protein feed, game bird feed.

I know it's a bit late for this, but here's my 2 cents. I use a coffee grinder. High protein game bird feed is best, but if you don't have reason to buy a big bag of it perhaps you could find someone near you and buy some from them? Un-medicated chick starter can be used in a pinch too, and you can boost the protein by giving small amounts of cooked egg. Grit, or sand, is necessary if you're giving anything in addition to the poultry feed.

Hope you had a great hatch!
