Chick with TWISTED foot OR BROKEN LEG?
I just want to say that I have a 6 year-old Silkie that came to me with a foot that is almost 90 degrees in the wrong direction. She uses it as if it's normal - always has. She's the absolute best mother and it's no impediment for her at all. I guess what I'm saying is, I think that if you can get her healed, she will be fine: lead a good chicken life.

Kenya, I think you are right about the slipped tendon.
I looked online & saw pics with similar looking leg & it was a slipped tendon.
The chick keeps trying to stretch leg back but leg is too far sideways.
I followed the instructions to try & get tendon to pop back in, so far no luck.
Also Tried to tuck leg up to body & chick screamed then wiggled free.
I'm going to look for more instructions online.
Maybe I can find another method.
The leg is swollen. Made the asprin drink & made sure he had some.
( thanx for the recipe Jaye )

Jaye, IF the chick can eventually get around to eat & drink it will be great.
I am fine if there is a limp or a crooked leg...as long as it gets to be self sufficient.
Can't live in my sew room forever, but I understand what you are saying.

A few years back my sweet Ameraucana roo had a slipped tendon.
No matter what we tried, it didn't get better.
Was a sad day when he dropped to the ground & never walked again. ;-(

Chick with TWISTED foot OR BROKEN LEG?
I found 2 short but good videos "Fix a chicks slipped tendon" by Cathy Newton.
Problem is my chick is swollen so much I can't really see where to push.
In the video it was quite clear. Maybe after a day of asprin water the swelling will go down.
chick has eaten & drank but still in pain. Fingers crossed!

Poor wee thing. I hope it's improved enough today for you to try to get the slipped tendon fixed. Good luck!

Chick with TWISTED foot OR BROKEN LEG?
I brought 2 chicks in to keep the little one company.
Originally I had only 1 companion with the chick.
Problem was every time I took the little one out to work on it's leg,
the other chick would scream until I brought back the lame one.
( you ever try to massage & manipulate a chicks leg while listening to another scream - ackkk )
With 2 healthy chicks I noticed the lame one getting knocked over alot.
It's heart breaking to listen to a chick cry ( wimper? )
It continued to shake & the asprin water wasn't helping much.
But the worst part was how swollen the leg had become.
It was Impossible to feel or find the tendon.
I could handle the chick cheeping all nite long under my bedroom.
( well actually I could Not handle it, but I was Hopeful )
BUT after 5 days I decided the poor thing had suffered enough.
Today I was merciful & it was the Right decision for the chick (*-*)
I REALLY appreciate ALL the comments & Words of Wisdom!
