Long tapered egg...NO choice but to hatch!

I realize the BEST eggs to hatch are Normal size & shape.
BUT my Blue Showgirl does NOT lay Normal size & shaped eggs.
She lays eggs longer than the average silkie egg.
They are also more pointed on the one end than a regular egg.

I have NO choice as she is my "only" blue showgirl.
She is a sweet homey looking little SG.

( she is my Profile pic ~ you can see for yourself - LOL )

It would be nice to have a few more Blues.
I am crossing her with my Partridge Silkie.
( I don't have a blue SG rooster - sigh )

ANY thoughts or Experience hatching NON-perfect eggs?

Yes, I had couple Splash Ameraucana hens that laid longish narrower then average eggs, I didn't see any difference in hatch ability at all.

I have a few silkies and showgirls who lay tapered eggs and they hatch just fine for me :)

now I wonder if those hens hatched from hens that lay like that will lay like that themselves? anyone know? is it genetic? hmmm

The shape of the egg is related to the shape of the hen's oviduct, so in theory it could be inherited, but it's probably 3 years ago when I hatched from those and I haven't seen eggs that shape again so possibly more common in bantams.

I've never had any of my bantams lay them but my one blue laced red Wyandotte and an ameraucana do. I have heard no difference in hatch ability but I have never tried to hatch any from them. Their parents back 3 generations never laid any bullet shaped eggs, now I have 2 doing it, I have been told that not enough activity when younger is the cause, I don't know.

I had an hen that used to lay an egg like that. The only thing I found it was hard to know which end the air sac was, so I would candle it before setting it in the incubator. Hatched just fine!!

I have hatchd those too. Never noticed that the kids had that shape. But they hatched just fine.
