Dry Incubation

Post by Colleen Kinzie » Mon Mar 08, 2021 5:56 pm

Hi everyone.
Getting close to hatching season for me again. :run:
Just wondering if anyone has done dry hatching?
Totally dry, no water even at lockdown???
How does it work compared to adding water only at lockdown?

I've done dry ,totally dry and it depends what the humidity is outside the incubator. In the summer when humidity is higher it works well in the winter when humidity was only 22 it did not work

@kenya
So my room humidity in the basement is approximately 50
Do you think I should add water to the foam incubator with fan or will room humidity be enough?
Thanks

I have just started up mine and room humidity is 45%. I added a very small amount of water and it's reading 42%. I have a pump but the pump isn't running to maintain it so that is enough for me.

I'd add a little as killer bunny says but not much.
