I presume you speak of the Styrofoam lid, I made loops out of fiberglas tape (any tape will do) tape attaching to lid on the underside and letting stick our couple of inches, made the lifting easy.

Not sure if you can see it, they are little see thru flaps visible on the sides of the incubators.
