I took the chick starter and just crushed some with the back of a wooden spoon so there are different sizes. The gold colored one is bigger and eats bigger pieces. The others are eating a couple of sizes. I am also giving them egg yolk from hard boiled eggs. They eat that too.

The darkest one in the front looks black, but the other dark ones with the yellow look dark blue. There is one more that's a light gold color that hatched after I took these ones out. Some have orange legs and beaks, and some have dark legs and beaks. It should be interesting to see what color they end up.

Kind of like a surprise package.

I gave them vitamins in their water for about a week. In fact I did it with an eye dropped because they were sooo little. Good luck.

I decided not to give them vitamins. They had no problems hatching and are doing really well. There are vitamins in the chick starter, and the egg yolk I am giving them comes from my hen eggs. My adult chickens get Electrolytes Plus in their water every day so I think there will be some vitamins in the eggs. These are tiny chickens and I can't imagine that they need more vitamins than that. They can run so fast I can hardly catch them! Wing feathers are starting to come in and they are growing.

They are 1 week old now. There are two body types - one finer and one more chunky looking. The dark ones with yellow on their faces are getting black and white feathers. The yellow chick is getting sort of creamy white feathers. The two gold chicks are getting kind of brown lined feathers. The mostly dark ones are getting black feathers. It should be interesting. They are a lot of fun. I took a video of the feeding frenzy when they get the cooked egg yolk. No signs of any health problems.

I turned on the ceiling light, but left the heat lamp on. I thought they would be clearer. I'll have to take more, of course. :)

I always think they should be in a cabinet like those little Murano glass critters
