Egg Candling pic - day 4

Just wanted to share cause I think this is pretty cool! Bought a really good flashlight so I could candle the 24 eggs I have under broodies....unfortunately Rooster isnt roostering near as much as i had hoped and many are not fertilized. I will go through the first batch this weekend at 14 days and toss the ones not developing. This pic is from the newest batch its it's about 4/5 days (set her on 5/25)

I bought a really bright flashlight (300 lumens - but still quite small) just for this purpose! I taped a toilet paper tube around it so i could set the egg right on it. Works slick!

The other thing that you can use is a piece of foam pipe insulation, it cushions eggs nicely.

Duct tape works well too or just your fingers . Luck

Big Thanks to @Penny this post prompted me to but a new flashlight for candling. Times have changed and boy what a difference!
