Oh je m'excuse.... 11/20 have hatched. It was easier counting the unhatched eggs than trying to count moving chicks.
Yay again!

So... the plan was to move dried out chicks to the brooding box this morning right away, which I did.
However, before that, I found a dead, newly hatched chick. Maybe it got trampled while it was taking a rest? I didn't think it was that over-crowded in the incubator.

Picture of the dead little guy? No.
And I kept the last 4 unhatched eggs in the incubator, for now. Two are mine, and two are the purchased barred rocks. That means, if the little dead chick was from my hens, then so far, only 6/12 of the purchased barred rocks were successful hatches. Shoot-darn!!!
I'll take a photo of the chicks in the brooding box and post it.

Did you candle the eggs in the incubator? They may be late hatches.

Good idea. I will do that tonight. I had only candled them with the others on candling days.
