Bantam eggs hatching

Post by Colleen Kinzie » Tue Jul 18, 2017 10:33 pm

Do bantam eggs hatch earlier than 21 days?
I just went down to take turner out and add water for humidity and one chick was hatched and dried completely and at least 4 more had pipped
Friday is hatch day 21?
@ross what kind of roosters are these little guys? Lol
Ps. I think Marshmallow is the dad

No personal experience with bantam hatching eggs, but I have heard that they do tend to hatch earlier.

Lol my last banty eggs hatched early too. First one pipped on day 18. It's weird because they don't hatch early under mom. So maybe banties temp is a little lower? Don't know.

They sure do Ross!
My little banty and Marshmallow paired up right away thats why I think he's the dad
Oreo might have one or two kids but I think most are Marshmallows
She's got 2 chicks as if 630 this morn and 8 more eggs I think
Will send pics in a day or two

Presenting the new family
10 fertile eggs
10 lively chicks
8 were my little Cochin banty eggs
1 a barnyard mix hen
1 red layer hen from pullets plus
The red layer crossed with the banty rooster are ideally what I'd like to end up with. Smaller hens that are still decent layers

Ross' boys came through. Woohoo
First time hatching banty chicks They are soooooo tiny and cute
