general consensus: cockerel or pullet year?

Post by Jaye » Mon Jul 17, 2017 2:43 pm

I've been wondering what kind of cockerel/pullet ratios everyone has been getting out of their hatches this year. More boys than girls, or more girls than boys?

Very heavily skewed towards boys so far, in the ones old enough to tell, but if it follows the same progression as last year, it'll start skewing more towards girls. I hope :) Hopefully by next hatch!
But as of right now, it's 75%> cockerel :/

My chicks have mostly been leaving before I can tell! Will follow up with a couple people shortly but of the ones I know I'm about 50/50

I hatched 31 chicks. I can't tell on all of them, but I believe about 3/4 are males.
