I don't get it. Are you saying that with this DNA test, they can tell you if a rooster or a hen laid the egg?

Lol I doubt it? but it would tell me which Emu chicks to pair up to keep and which to sell.

The membrane that lines the egg shell is derived from the embryo, so it has the same genes and chromosomes as the embryo. They can extract the DNA from the membranes and look for the presence of the Z and W chromosomes. if there's only Z then it's a male chick from that egg, if there's Z and W then it was a female in that egg.

If anyone gets an egg from a rooster please keep it and hatch it and see what it gives LOL
