First hatch out

Post by MommaChick » Wed Feb 15, 2017 7:30 am

First hatch out. The little buggers slipped in and out of thier hatching baskets so now I don't know who is who. Very disappointing, but it is what it is I guess. I have an old display cabinet from Canadian Tire that I converted to an incubation station. One drawer is for supplies and the other is for chicks. Incubator sits on top as well as a spot for the eggs waiting to go in. The drawer is well ventilated and works even better then I thought it would. Next hatch is a few days away. Anyone looking for Chantecler chicks give me a holler.

Oh I just have a sportsman. Sorry for the confusion. Here is my egg Incubation Station. In years past, I had brooders all over the back room and trays everywhere so this is a big deal for me. I have room for the other two table top incubators if my girls would kick it up a notch. Not sure if we will be ready to show at this rate.

Yup, I tried the baskets for the turkeys too. I don't know how they would get out but sure enough! I hatched them a week apart after that.

Awwww! Are they all Chantecler chicks, even the ones with gold heads or gray patches?
