Wire floor?
Does anyone keep thier chicks on a wire floor? It was suggested on a hatching page to help prevent cocci, but it just seemed harsh to me. I am thinking of backing out of some rabbits, (we shall see though) and have lots of cages. They are a nice size for chicks and the heat lamps can be secured well on the tops. Looking for thoughts on the idea.

Wire floor?
The chicks don't have a chance to build up immunity on wire floors, it only works really well if the birds are going to spend rest of their life on wire.
