Turkey Hatch w Sweetgrass X

Post by Epona » Sat Jun 18, 2016 8:34 am

The first 2016 hatch for us with the turkeys. Now I know what they do behind the wood shed. With free ranging, we are always hunting for those hideouts. I wish they would use the same place twice. Surprised how consistent these were given the jenny was a Red Bronze. Last year there was more variety. Still waiting on the other jenny's gang to hatch. You have to be a pretzel to get under the bush and the wild raspberry canes to get to it. Our Dob is the best for finding the nests and leaving them undisturbed. I think he was a pointer in his first life. Or maybe a Lab....something that retrieves without harm?

Ha! Ha! Congratulations! Your dogs look like they are having a great time, my one dog Blue was great as well pointing out wayward babies that had escaped the brooder.

Can't keep the Dob out of water. If you're not throwing sticks for him, he is pulling them out of the water on his own.
